ABOUT LEO PROJECTS
What L.E.O Stands For
The name L.E.O represents the values that guide the charity’s work: Life – helping improve the lives of animals and people in need. Equality – treating every life with compassion and respect. Opportunity – creating opportunities for a better future. These three principles form the foundation of every project L.E.O Projects supports.
Our Work
For over 18 years, L.E.O Projects has supported a number of causes in Sri Lanka that are close to the founder’s heart. The charity focuses on practical support and community engagement, working directly with individuals and local initiatives to create meaningful impact.

Animal Welfare
One of the core missions of L.E.O Projects is improving the welfare of street dogs and cats in Sri Lanka. The plight of stray animals in Sri Lanka can be heartbreaking. While there are many incredible individuals and organisations already doing vital work, much more support is still needed. L.E.O Projects contributes by supporting feeding programmes, rescue efforts and veterinary care to improve the lives of stray animals and raise awareness about their welfare.
Sea Turtle Protection
Sea turtle conservation has been part of L.E.O Projects since the charity was first established. Sri Lanka is home to several endangered species of sea turtles, and the protection of nesting sites and hatchlings is essential for their survival. L.E.O Projects works alongside one of the pioneers of turtle conservation in Sri Lanka to support efforts that protect these remarkable animals and their fragile ecosystems.
Supporting Underprivileged Children
ducation is a powerful tool for opportunity, yet many children in Sri Lanka face financial barriers that make attending school difficult. L.E.O Projects supports underprivileged children by providing essential school items such as: • school booklets • uniforms • shoes and socks Rather than simply providing funds, L.E.O Projects focuses on directly purchasing and delivering these essential supplies so that support reaches the children who need it most.
Community Support
In addition to education, L.E.O Projects also helps provide basic hygiene and sanitation items to families in need. This includes items such as: • sanitary products • soap • toothpaste • other everyday essentials While these items are often taken for granted in many parts of the world, they can make a meaningful difference to the health, dignity and wellbeing of children and families.
Our Commitment
L.E.O Projects remains committed to its founding principles of Life, Equality and Opportunity, working to support animals, protect wildlife and improve lives across Sri Lanka. Through compassion, practical action and community engagement, the charity aims to create positive change where it matters most.
